King Billy
36 x 30 inch cradled panel
A larger painting of the King Billy Pine. This conifer is extremely slow growing and seems to take on a life and character all of its own. It is classified as endangered under Australia's Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act. Tarns - small pools of water, in this part of Australia are often stained dark brown or the color of tea. The water is stained by tannin from the surrounding button grass.
Blue Fairy Wren
Oil
6 x 6 inch circular birch panel (floater design, no frame needed)
A variety of these little fairy wrens are found throughout Australia. I have painted him showing off his color while perched on the pretty Geraldton wax plant.
Arcadia Lighthouse
12 x 10 inch gallery wrapped canvas
I have visited this lighthouse and taken photographs from the rocky shore below. Also we have been lucky to sail Mystic (our sailing boat) through the narrow channel out front.
Chirping Fairy Wren
6 x 6 inch circular birch panel (floater design, no frame needed)
Little balls of fluff with the cuteness factor make the Australian fairy wren an irresistible subject for artists. The wren is calling out to its mate while perched among Geraldton wax flowers.
Stealth Mode
11 x 14 inch primed linen
A beautiful sunset over marshland in New England inspired me to paint this scene. If you watch a Heron hunt they seem to go into a slow stealthy mode. Hence the title.
Calm
12 x 16 inch panel
A New England scene on a cool, calm morning.
Winter
12 x 16 inch panel
New England winter scene.
Southern Land
18 x 24 inch panel
Tarns or small pools of water in this part of Australia are often stained dark brown or the color of tea. The water is stained by tannin from the surrounding button grass.
