A larger painting of the King Billy Pine. This conifer is extremely slow growing and seems to take on a life and character all of its own. It is classified as endangered under Australia's Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act. Tarns - small pools of water, in this part of Australia are often stained dark brown or the color of tea. The water is stained by tannin from the surrounding button grass.

As the North American winters become milder due to climate change there has been a northward expansion of birds that will eventually compete with the New England Chickadee. This piece draws attention to the plight of the Chickadee and depicts an alarm clock ringing while the world is filling up with water and soot.
